We weathered Sandy pretty well here—Twitter was a good resource for news across the NYC area, so I learned about the Manhattan blackout and various subway flooding while we stayed tucked up snug in Williamsburg. Power stayed on but our cable and internet cut out around 9 PM.
The only really scary thing was the incredible wind. It rattled the building and sounded like thunder at times. Thank the higher powers that nothing horrible happened.
Here's what the neighborhood looked like this morning.
Boarded up windows at the Knitting Factory
Everything had a coating of paper/leaf confetti
Let's hope the subway gets back on track soon.
